Yes its that time again, its been 3 years since they did it but they are knocking the mifis off again and have created a "no-renew" list as well.
This list is pro active in the sence that if you are late on your payment even by a couple days you are moved to this list and after that cannot make any payment on the account thus allowing it to not renew and then number is recycled and boom-badda-bing guess what? you dont have working mifi anymore, so the days of skating by for a few months at a time and not making any $5 payment on your already to cheap plans are over!!

I have been experimenting around some with this and have been able to pull some accounts back into good standing and get them off this list, but to be honest the 3G days are about over anyway, in a year they are claiming to stop activations for 3G accounts anyway so time to move to 4G :)

So if you try to make your payment and the automated line says "please make a payment today....Goodbye." then hangs up on you, well your on the list.and you must have been a bit late or alot late making your payment this month or last month.
You can still get your 3g devices reflashed but why would you? with 4G service available now its a no brainer to move to the 4G flash now.
anyway post your questions and comments in this thread for the killing of 3G mifis and the no call list if you have any.

I think they have closed a lot if not all of the prepaid 3g accounts on the flashed devices starting 07/17/2018. I received a text message on my flashed android phone "There has been activity on your account that violates our terms of service. We will be terminating your service today", indeed it no longer gets service. Today my MIFI 4510L couldn't get an internet connection and I'm sure it was hit in the sweep as well. Both devices had remaining balances on their accounts, one had $16 the other $31 so the issue had nothing to do with payments for me. This is my first post and I'm just trying to alert others to be careful about adding money to their accounts at Verizon and consider cancelling autopay if you have it set up.

Are the 4g accounts safe from these sweeps?

My 4620 that you flashed for me some time ago was kicked off a couple nights ago after nearly a year (maybe over a year by now) of faithful service... lol I've seen others reporting the same thing in a few different places so I decided to pop in here to check and see what's happening. Good to know there's an explanation, but I miss my backup 3G... lol I figured something like this was in the works though, for the past few months I've had to jump through hoops to get my payment to go and get my due date pushed up another month. Just a couple weeks ago when I paid I ended up using 3 different payments before it finally "took" and gave me another month. I guess that was Verizon's parting gift from me on the way out... ;)

So on the 4G flash... I think I asked you (Rich) before, but the 4620 doesn't support that flash right? So to move to 4G I'd need to pick up another hotspot to have flashed? That's kind of what I was avoiding, since it's only a backup for my unlimited AT&T that I use for my main internet. It was kinda nice having a fallback though, and for guests to use when I had my main connection tied up doing something important. I'd be interested in getting the 3G redone if it's reasonable, considering the risk and limited time before they kill off EVDO anyway, or maybe even 4G depending on the upfront cost.

I can still do 3g but highly suggest switching to 4g, 3g has no gaurantee anymore

I definitely see your point, it would not be fun to have it flashed again then get kicked off a week later... lol I'll start saving for 4G. :)

Ours went down to, 3g was perfect for 5$ a month and cheap start up now it’s either 25$ a month lease or 1000$ then 5$ a month we’re gonna just get a add on, hot spot, to our current plan since future is never certain.

3G is still working, if that is what you want then you need to wait until they are done sweeping, if they do finish that is.

old 3 G Account. I enjoyed my 3 g on the ZTE MF975U and wish to upgrade to 4 G using this same Mifi.
Rich is it possible to flash my MF976U to 4G? If so I will drop it in the mail to you ASAP.

Does anyone know where i can get the guide to flash to 4g? please let me know the price since right now i am only able to flash 3g
and i have some clients unhappy. i would like to have them flashed to 4g, so if anyone has any information please let me know. I would really
appreciate it. i have also heard that you can flash with boost signal, how effective is this? can i reuse the hotspots of verizon with boost? And for this
would my best option be to use an incognito phone? thank you before hand for your replies.

Friend this guide you speak of is costing thousands of $ no one is just giving it, however soon we will have online flashing that can be done in one click if you wish to use it, it will be here -------> [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Thanks for the answer Rich, I ordered a 6620 for 4 G from your shop, Lacey already. I will get the ZTE flashed too when you have it down pat.
BTW that ZTE kicked butt across the country east to west coast and all over, I had signed when others didn't.

I have an old 3G flashed phone that is still working just fine. It's been a beast, been using for probably 3 maybe 4 years now and cost has been like $1.75 per month. LOL!

I did experience the "hello...goodbye" but was able to add funds and the account remains fully operational to this day. It's still kicking guys. So I don't know about them actually going after flashed devices - it's probably more to do with the June 30 hard cutoff for new 3G activations which caused these other issues; and they aren't going to bother "fixing" any of it because 3G is about to permanently sunset in a pretty short order now. That said, I hope to get another 12-18 months from this old flashed beast before I have to permanently retire her. It's been the most reliable device I've ever owned (out of tens of MiFi boxes and other phones, as well as USB dongles) and has traveled with me from coast to coast and everywhere in-between.

I would definitely not recommend any one spend $ on 3G flashing service or device today of any kind - it's just not worth the time of day. But if you've still got an old working device you can keep operational for $5 or less a month...hell yeah. They'll have to shut the network down before I give it up. :)

Looks like this thread isn't doing much? Noticed that there's only ONE person selling the Verizon Unlimited MiFi devices on fleabay now?? Too much money for me but I'm curious why there aren't more. Some of the Old sellers still have accounts but there's nothing in their fleabay store?

So does anyone know what's going on?
3gs went down, only 4g now to expensive we just been buying prepaid sim cards off ebay, now 12$ 2gb 4g then unlimited 2g, better off than paying a bunch of money for something that could go down tommorw etcc.

not the best, yes it is better than dial up, my wife uses it at her work and is able to stream, but then at times pages are slower to load, but you can buy the bigger package sim cards for like 15$ with i think 4gb 4g then 2g, it sucks having to buy it every month, but at least you know it wont go offline or be out a lot of money.

That guy doesn't have any of those now?

So what MiFi works with these? Is it just plug that SIM card in and go or is there some kind of account setup that has to be done by or through Verizon? I've already got a ZTE 4G LTE 890 MiFi but according to Verizon the IMEI is no longer supported? It was one that was "flashed" but I did a hard reset on it and checked and the original IMEI is in it now and I couldn't find a phone number so I'm guessing it's clean now??

Or do I need a newer one?

Thanks
On idk I’m sure there is other sellers, we actually just put in in our phone an tethered it as hotspot

OK so like I said before, I need to find a website that has specifics as to how to set this up. Any other sites with better info on this? Or is it available on USENET or IRC?

Thanks
Help setting up? You buy the SIM card a put it in a phone and use tether? It’s not that hard?
