Hi,

I purchased LG Optimus M from Metro few days ago. It comes with preinstalled Android 2.2.1.

I tried to root, and downgrade phone to 2.2 but unsuccessfully:
1. z4root app doesn't work with 2.2.1.
2. SuperOneClick doesn't work with 2.2.1.
3. LGNPST downgrade to 2.2 (MS690ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014.tot, MS690ZV3_36.scr, MPC_AWS_3014.prl) make phone screen black.
4. After LGNPST update (rootable 2.2.1) with MS690ZV4_26-root.BIN, MS690ZV3_36.scr, MPC_AWS_3014.prl phone no longer connects to the network.

Any ideas what else can I try?

Thanks

Be patient, not everyone will have the answer.

I would start the adventure by getting the PRL loaded and get the talk function back. Then work up from there reversing the steps used to get to where your at currently.

I have same problem with LG Optimus Chic (LG E720).
It came with Android 2.2 and everything went fine rooting it.
After upgrading to 2.2.1 I lost root and most of my favourite apps.

I already ordered a new phone (not to be root on my own device really sucks and is not acceptable) but maybe there is a new exploit for LG android 2.2.1 or tools/firmware to downgrade.

For those who haven't found their way to what they are looking for here, take a look at this....

On LG Optimus phones that were shipped stock with 2.2.1 the downgrade option will not work.

[Only registered and activated users can see links] to root your phone, install custom recovery and flash custom ROM. A kernel is being worked on for stock 2.2.1 phones so we will have the ability to overclock shortly.
