Moving forward, people will be able to use the ad preferences settings to put the kibosh on reminder ads that often show up after user's search for specific products. Google says the tool is first reaching the mobile web and will soon expand to YouTube, Search, and Gmail in the coming months. Further, Google is improving the "mute this ad" function in several ways. First, the tool will now be smart enough to cease showing ads that were first muted on a smartphone on the same user's laptop or tablet (as long as they are signed into their Google account.) Second, the mute this ad tool will become more widely available, including within more apps and partner web sites so people can take control over their browsing experience. These tools can be managed in the Google Dashboard.
