The app serves multiple purposes: it includes a file browser, local file transfer tool, and a tool to help free up storage on your phone. The file browser is arranged by file type: images, videos, audio, document, and apps. The file browser also includes multiple views, plus sorting and filter options. The file-transfer tool lets you send and receive files with nearby Android phones also running Files Go. It's similar to Apple's AirDrop feature. It automatically creates a temporary mobile hotspot to transfer files quickly over Wi-Fi. The storage cleaner tool uses a simple card interface with visual previews to suggest various types of apps and files that may be unnecessary. Tapping a card deletes that data, freeing up storage space on the phone. Manufacturers have recently been adding their own, similar storage-cleaning tools to Android phones. Files Go was released in beta one month ago.
