CaptainKirk and I figured this out, not sure if we're the first.
How to:
1) Load service books with desktop manager
2)Get SPC for phone (must purchase)
3)Change spc to 000000 with workshop
4)Do typical min/mdn settings sid etc.
5)write NV items (Iota Bypass and Reg ID bypass)
If you don't have the Reg ID one that changes to 2004, visit the thread that explains how to do so.
6)write prl
7)Nam Tab: Uncheck NAM lock and write. then write prl again
8)Nam Tab Check again,write, and then prl again
9)Restart, check if prl stuck by dialing *4357#
10)##000000 check if 310 and 00 on mcc area (sorry I'm writing this off the top of my head)
Also check to see if reg id is 2004
DONE!
Tested on a curve 8530 version of virgin mobile
