What you need:

CDMA WS 2.7 or 3.4.5
QPST 2.7 build 215
WinHEX
Cricket 1x PRL file
RG1.reg file This is in link at bottom
RG3.reg file This is in link at bottom


Open phone up in CDMA Workshop
Select correct port for phone and hit read.
Then go to security tab.
SPC should be 000000.
Close CDMA WS and say no when it asks to to a mode reset.
Open QPST 2.7 build 215
Select the port the phone is on.
Start Serivce programming.
For the Base Model, use SURFR6100-ZRF6155
Read phone.
Go to CDMA tab and program in MDN and MIN
Go to System tab and enter SID
Go to Roam and select your 1x PRL.
Go to M.IP tab and change to Simple IP only

go to PPP tab.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Click on write phone.
Close out of QPST for the time being.
Now you need to use WinHEX to modify the RG1.reg and RG3.reg files.
Open the RG1.reg file
Go to View and select Text Display only
Where it says BROWSER_PROXY_USERNAME, change the 10 digits to the MDN
Save the changes and close the file.
Now open RG3.reg
where it says MMS_USERNAME, change the first 10 digits to the MDN
Where it says MMS_USERNAME_COMMERICAL, change the first 10 digits to the MDN
Save the changes and close RG3
After it finishes writing, close service programming.
Open QPST EFS Explorer
This will read the filesystem from the phone.
Go to Registry folder.
On the right side of the window, it will show the list of files.
Go to My Computer and open the folder where you have saved the registry keys.
You will need to drag the the 2 files to the right side of the EFS Explorer where it lists the files on the phone.
It will ask you to overwrite the files. Say yes.
Close EFS explorer.
Power cycle phone.
Try phone out.

anyone have an issue with web not workin? I followed this to a T and no connection, used gfs min/mdn to verify an account with web=negative

i was able to do the u820 which is very similar to this guide

I haven't had any issues, but I don't have any more to test on. I will recheck the registry to see if I missed anything.

Thanks for letting me know it's working for you. I would have been disappointed if it only worked for me. Try doing *228 and letting phone program. Then write settings to the phone and trying. Also try reprovisioning account if that doesn't work.

cant get CDMA WS to read the phone. Connected to COM port successfully, but I get a failed.. phone does not answer. the phone is showing up in device manager as a samsung modem, tried two different COM ports. Using CDMA WS 2.7 on Vista 32 bit.

Any help would be appreciated

you need a diagnostic serial port,i dont have an int.2 but i did 2 inten,1 yesterday,and when you plug it the phone throws up a screen asking about mass storage,you must hit disconect and then disconect again on the next screen it throws up to get the diag port.you gota do that every time the phone resets or is plugged in.

but like i said that is for intensity 1,so not sure if its the same on 2.
