Lg 8100 (vx8100)

Hello,
I have some lg 8100s from Alltel which is the same phone as lg vx8100 from verizon. I need to fully flash them to either verizon(pageplus) or cricket. I have the verizon firmware and dll for vx8100 and I tried it on this phone but it doesnt work. It only takes the scr and eri files but not the bin file. And all the settings remain Alltel even if I try to overwrite the paramtable file. Any one have any suggestion or have any custom firmware? Im willing to pay for a solution.

Here is all I have on the 8100. I am not even sure what DLL it is for Verizon or Alltel. I hope this helps

Thanks alot for your help smitty but I already have that dll. That is the verizon dll that doesnt work with bin or nv edit.

All of those links are dead. I was able to download the verizon bin from mobilefiles but it doesnt nvedit or take verizon bin with the vx8100 dll.

Bro if you try upgrade software with lgdownload using vx8100 DLL and verizon bin it might work.

I tried that already. It says "Invalid Binary File (T81xxxxxx.BIN)". The phone shows Software Version CX81TE17 and the bin file I have is T81VZV07_02.bin. I even tried to rename the file to CX81TE18 in a loose attempt to trick LGDownload but got the same error.

Ok, bro what i can see now is that you said that your phone has Software Version CX81TE17 that mean your phone has Canada TLS firmware.

i have DLL for this CX8100.dll/ CX81TE19_00

^^I see. But how is that firmware going to help me flash it to either cricket or verizon? Wouldnt that be just an upgrade of the same Telus Canada firmware?

If you can send me the CX8100.dll ill see if it takes the verizon firmware using that dll, which I still doubt.

@smitty: I tried that already it just goes to a black screen and when I connect it says USB Not Recognized.

I will send you the CX8100.dll, but remember that using lgdownloader you have to choose cx8100 dll and then vx8100 bin file also try upgrade software first.

avoid trying to downloadig a bin file on the LGs. This is the best way to brick LG phones. they are easily brincked. try different dll files. usually i use the 9100 dll file found on the humpa website. this one works for most 9xxx series. also the 8500 or 8550 dll might work for your phone. solutions are out there for either flashes. here is the one for pageplus without the bin files: ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). you have to find a working dll first and use that toturial. the one for cricket is out there too, im just too lazy to find it right now, lol...
