Samsung is following up its NVMe successes from 2015 (http://www.pcworld.com/article/3010625/storage/samsung-950-pro-nvme-ssd-review-stacked-nand-stacked-performance.html) with some fresh blazing-fast M.2 SSDs for storage geeks. The company just announced the Samsung 960 Pro and 960 Evo during this year’s Samsung SSD Global Summit.
As with 2015’s-950 Pro NVMe SSDs (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2985226/storage/samsungs-950-pro-ssd-marries-v-nand-and-nvme-for-ludicrously-fast-speeds.html), the new 960 series marries stacked V-NAND density with the-Non-Volatile Memory express (NVMe) (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2899351/everything-you-need-to-know-about-nvme.html)-specification. They also use a 4-lane PCIe 3.0-interface, just like the 950 Pro.
