As if waiting a full year for the seventh season of Game of Thrones wasn't tough enough already , showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed this week that the next season might debut a bit later than we expected. "We're starting a bit later because at the end of this season, 'Winter is here' --and that means that sunny weather doesn't really serve our purposes any more," they explains. "So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot." Jim Norton, one of the hosts of the podcast, asked the showrunners if they knew how much longer the show was going to last. Although they can say that there are only two seasons remaining, they still can't share exactly how many episodes those seasons will consist of (but they'll definitely be shorter). If the seventh season does end up lasting for the rumored 7 episodes, there's a chance that HBO could start airing the show three weeks later than the typical early April date and still end the season in late June. Whatever the case, we're hopeful that real-world winter will cooperate with the crew so that we can see what snowy Westeros looks like sooner rather than later.
