Kyocera/Sanyo Zio Hard Reset & Drivers

Does anybody have the drivers for the kyocera/sanyo zio m6000? I also need to hard reset the phone (hard button combo)

This is one reset, but not the one you may be looking for:

1. Pull up the dial pad and enter: ##4357*  This will launch RTN Menu page
2. Select View
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen; select RESET  This will launch Enter MSL Code Pop up screen
4. Touch input window, then keypad will show up. type: 000000 (6 zeros) for MSL code and Hit OK
5. Reset to factory Settings, select OK

There is a way, I battled with that button combination till I was blue in the face with NO luck. I also tried the "null" password and was not able to get it with that either.

total newb response but does the computer you hook it up to need the kyocera cd installed? also, do you type "fastboot -w" on the computer or the phone? getting to the fast boot screen i understand, it's just everything after that i'm lost.

You will need the usb drivers installed for the phone to be reconized, yes you can find those on the kyocera disc that came with the phone, also can use the links above.

as far as where to type in the fastboot command, i am also curious on how that is done exactly. Will i have to use something like Android sdk? (bootloader unlock)
I have a second zio m6000 stuck at the pattern unlock, id like to wipe and restore to factory..

Other than that i love this phone, once you get used to it, hope i can get the 2.2 running!

type these commands without quotations
type "cd c:\android-sdk-windows"
then "cd tools"
than type command on dexs post.

you will see it format two things

after its done pull out battery and turn on.

you should have a hard reset zio.

Have a follow up question to this. I have the Zio and don't have the install CD. I have the page for the Kyocera drivers, but does anyone know offhand the correct cable/kit number for the zio? Much appreciated.

the correct keys: vol up + send + ball + end. After it vibrates let go all keys and wait for it to reboot.

do you have the android sdk installed? if you do cd into its location. sometimes some people shorten the name of the sdk folder.

JRTRAN: You should be able to just skip it. I have gotten to the desktop on them numerous times without them being on a cricket plan at all.

If there is no directory, then one of the following has to be true:

1. You don't have the Android SDK installed.
2. You renamed the folders
3. You installed it someone where else on your computer

is there any firmware I can use to repair this, i think I'm going to have to use some adb commands

Maybe this ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) will help. Not sure what can be done with this though if there's no custom recovery already installed on the Zio.

yeah I have that, not sure if or how it can be used in this situation plus I doubt it was rooted. Custy took the phone, I still would like to know how to fix it

anyone experience problems with the sprint zio DLL not installing? everytime I try to install it it gives me an error:

I assume you mean the drivers

Had the same problem you need to uninstall both "KYOCERA USB Modem M6000 Driver" & "SANYO USB Modem SCP-8600 Driver" restart PC then reinstall "SANYO USB Modem SCP-8600 Driver"

hi guys after fast boot command the phone stuck om kyocera screen its not comming back on even tho i did 3 or 4 phones before cricket and sprint phones

I did 4,5 phones with this procedure and they worked fine. but now today i tried another one and it says waiting for phone and it never resets it. Any suggestions what's wrong???

Did the wipe through ADB
Waited a while, the phone said wipe OKAY

Took the battery out,put it back in, now its stuck on the Kyocera logo screen. What should i do?

Hey guy's long time no talk 2. When I try 2 download the drivers I just get a PDF file with bunch of weird symbols & no download... NE idea what that's about?

you have to press volume up, call key, trackball and then end key to get it into boot loader... then run the command once finished reboot phone by taking the battery out. Thats what worked for me.
