ok so i didnt want to see the cricket startup gif on the power up of my phone so i did son expermenting with bitpim and found in on of the directories the power_on.gif file that cricket used and backed it up "if you over write this file beware the dementions of the new gif can not be any differant then the original and i would stick to the same animation fame time and number of frames in fact all the gif settings should stay the same to prevent any possible freeze ups" on my phone it was 176 x 220 pixels 15 frames 10/100 of a second each no repeat loop so if you want a slid show of your kids or a quick porn when you turn on your phone it should be about a second and a half long and about 15 frames 10/100ths of a second long each not sure if anyone would want to do this as right after spending all day on it i decided the cricket logo was fine and didnt want to take the time to animate my own gif logo

yeah, definitely not how it always is, not even close to that easy much of the time, especially when they are in the firmware in a proprietary file format.
