The holograms in Star Wars used to seem like the future, but now you can back them on Kickstarter. Animation guru Phil Tippett's HoloGrid: Monster Battle is an AR game loosely based on the 1977 movie's Holochess game, and he is looking to the crowdfunding platform for the funds. The Verge points out the Tippet was behind the stop-motion graphics for the original Star Wars' Holochess, making him uniquely qualified to bring a similar game to life.
