Step 1: First things first, you need to download some files... Thanks to Phoxus we have the SBF File that we need. Go here to download it. (the name of the file is "the gift". [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

Done

Step 2: Also download the RSDLite program and the 32 or 64 bit drivers from the same place.

Step 3: Create 2 folders on your desktop, name one RSDLite, and the other Droid X SBF.

Done

Step 4: Now, move the RSDLite Program and the Droid X SBF files (the gift) to their respective folders on your desktop.

Done (I copied the files instead of moving.

Step 5: Unzip the RSDLite program into the same folder.

Turns out I downloaded RSDLite 4.6 so I searched and downloaded 4.7

Step 6: Unzip the SBF files (the gift) into its folder.

Done

Step 7: Now, go into the Droid X SBF folder on your desktop, and install the 32 or 64 bit drivers.

Done

Step 8: Open up windows Explorer, Double click on the C: drive (or whichever letter your main drive is), then double click on "Program Files" Then double click on Motorola Then double click on RSDLite Then MINIMIZE that window.

I checked under "Program Files and no RSDLite folder. Did a search of entire C drive and no folder.

Step 9: Double click on the RSD lite folder on your desktop, once it opens, double click on RSDLite 4.7. patch folder, it will open up and there will be a file all by itself named."PST_Flash"

Done. I actually installed RSDLite 4.7. I then had a RSDLite folder from step 8.

Step 10: Re-opent the RSDLite folder you minimized, and move both windows so they are side by side.

I only used one Windows Explorer window as I am familiar with copying and moving files around.

Step 11: Now, drag the file PST_Flash file from the RSDLite desktop folder to the other RSD Lite folder, and let it overwrite the default file from Motorola.

Done. I noticed the file sizes were different.

Step 12: Now, close both of those folders, and then close the RSDLite Program and Re-open it. This is where I am at the moment. From the steps I took starting at "Step 9" I didn't have the RSDLite Program open.

click on the " ..." button I re-opend the RSDLite Program but didn't see the "..." button. I only received a message to either repair or uninstall. Stopped here and canceled the install.

and then navigate to the folder on your desktop named Droid X SBF. Then click on the "The gift" In the Droid X SBF folder I only had the Phoxus_-_Droid_X_Gift.zip file, the VRZ_MB180_1.13.6.2_1FF_01.sbf and Motorola_Consumer_Driver_Installation_MotoConnect_ 1.1.30_64_bit_4.6.5.msi files.

Then click on the file name Phoxus I didn't understand this so went no further..

Then Phoxus - Droid X The gift. It will autopopulate to RSD.

I sincerely apologize for being so anal about all this. I spent 20 years in the military, most of it in computers/communications. Post military I worked at a computer support help desk for a major defense corporation.

In both of these capacities I wrote instructions and gave instructions verbablly. I learned to write/say 'exactly' what was expected to be seen and/or done.

I also learned to be very careful in the words I used and not to paraphrase or use slang.

I provide the above information, not to brag or criticize or anything else, but to let the post writer (and any reader) understand my thought process.

If I have messed up on following the above instructions please let me know. I also apologize if I didn't or wasn't able to do exactly what was written/instructed.

Step 13: Now, power down your phone.

Step 14: Hold down the Volume Down button, and the Camera button. Then hold down the Power button... After 3 seconds of holding them down, release them. Once release, you will be at the bootloader screen.

Step 15: Now, connect your phone to your PC with the Data Cable. NOTE..... dont panic, your device will not show up in the Device box. dont know why, but it wont.

Step 16: Wait 10 seconds.

Step 17: click the Start Button....

Step 18: Wait for a while.... A long while.... A really long while..... RSDLite will flash the correct files into your phone. It will then attempt to reboot the phone... It wont, dont worry. RSDLite will tell you to manually reboot the phone. Go ahead and give it a shot. It wont do it. It gets stuck in a perpetual Load.... going from Droid to the eye and back...

Step 19: Do a battery pull

Step 20: Reinsert the battery Now, hold down the home button, and the power button to get main bootloader screen, scroll down using the volume down button to "Reset data/Factory wipe" Push the camera button one time, Then scroll down to Yes Let the phone completely wipe,

Step 21: Once done, Select the Reboot phone option. Let the phone reboot. Once its done, and comes up to the green android/activation screen.. touch each corner from the top left, top right, bottom right, then bottom left. Its going to try to backup... Its going to fail. select cancel, then skip now. wait for the phoen to finish loading up. Once at the home screen, click the phone icon, then enter *22890 Then click the call button. let the phone activate. Then sign into your gmail account...

Guess what, your done.
