However, what about a P9 Lite? The P8 had a cheaper cousin with the Lite name, and rumors prior to the P9’s announcement speculated one would be coming along with the P9. The phone hasn’t arrived yet, but rumors continue, so here’s what we think we know about it. Shortly after the P9’s launch, a phone called the P9 Lite made an appearance on Romanian online store Cel.ro’s website, where it was offered for the equivalent of $300. It’s still listed at the time of writing, but the stock availability isn’t known, with anyone interested told to contact the firm before ordering. Related: Read our review of the Huawei P9 The site provides an extensive rundown of the P9 Lite’s possible specifications. Like the P9, the Lite has a 5.2-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen, and comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed. There are two primary differences though. The first is the most serious: It doesn’t have the P9’s fantastic dual-lens Leica camera, but a single 13-megapixel rear camera instead. We’re very impressed with the P9’s camera, and without it, the P9 would be an attractive, but rather ordinary, smartphone. Earlier rumors also claimed the P9 Lite wouldn’t share the P9’s dual-lens Leica camera. The processor has also been changed to a Kirin 650 with 2GB of RAM, according to the retailer. Both these alterations are to be expected, if the phone needs to have a price tag that’s around half of the P9’s. A USB Type-C connector is still onboard, along with 4G connectivity, and a 3,000mAh battery. Because Huawei hasn’t made the P9 Lite official yet, the above specs should be considered rumor and speculation, and therefore subject to complete change. We still don’t even know that Huawei will release a P9 Lite at all, although it does seem likely. The Huawei P9 will go on sale at the end of April, and we’ll update here with more news and rumors on the P9 Lite. Also watch: Huawei P9 Review Please enable Javascript to watch this video
