I found this link over at XDA and wanted to share but I have not confirmed it to work so do this at your own risk. If you get it to work please share that if you can find the time.

I'm trying to pickup a Droid on the cheap so I can test, but it seems to me the $55 plan eliminates the majority of those steps.

well here is 2.2 ROM for cricket...... just load sprecovery, load rom, and regular flash and write nv items. done :) this i am providing to only contributing members of the forum. i will check your posts to see if u contribute..... if u have less than 10 meaningful posts, DO NOT BOTHER ASKING FOR PASSWORD! pm for password.
THIS IS BASED ON OFFICIAL 2.2 FOR MOTO DROID. YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE INFAMOUS "GOOGLE TALK AUTHENTIFICATION ERROR" THAT U GET WITH PORTED 2.2 ROMS.

what will this download do for my droid? I already have 2.2 froyo with working mms, wap, txt and voice. Everything works flawlessly including market and flash. However I'm gettin tired of always getting a popup for the phone wanting to install 2.2 update of some sort? it's most annoying since it pops up when you are moving thru the menu.

This download is a ROM, it's 2.2 and will get the same results as what you have currently. Since the OP has been banned I mirrored the link. I am also working on a couple flaws such as the ROM ota update message.

Genuwine, which kernal did you use? Most do not have the IPTables and did you reflash, as Cyanogen 6 changes the prl back to VZ I thought? Thanks in advance
