Multiple reports indicate that Samsung’s best phone yet is experiencing some troubling Wi-Fi issues. It’s not clear how widespread the matter is, but the Galaxy S7 seems to behave erratically on Wi-Fi and users are complaining that certain features aren’t working as expected.-The issue, which has been replicated by Motherboard on a test device, affects Gmail sync over Wi-Fi. The problem occurs only over Wi-Fi and does not affect Internet browsing. Switching Wi-Fi on and off seems to fix the problem, though Wi-Fi mail syncing once again fails-relatively soon after that. DON’T MISS: DOJ warns that it could force Apple to hand over iOS source code Threads on Reddit and Android Central suggest there are plenty of Galaxy S7 buyers who are experiencing this particular type of problem. A fix for it isn’t available yet. Apparently, disabling Bluetooth or uninstalling apps that use location in the background also fixes the issue, though that’s a trade off that not many people would be willing to make. In a worst-case scenario, you can completely disable Wi-Fi and use LTE, though that’s not ideal either, as doing this-might quickly eat through your monthly data allowance. These issues will likely be addressed in future updates, although there's no way of telling when those updates will actually make it to your device.
