GSM 'unlocking' by cable question. I'm a newbie! Please HELP!

Is it possible to 'unlock' a GSM phone if you have the data cable and CDMA Workshop or will another program be needed? Also, can phones with IMEI of 011 and higher be unlocked with a cable? I know these can NOT be unlocked by code. Thanks in advance for any help!

There are MANY ways to unlock gsm. 1) Buy factory unlocked gsm phones. 2)Turbosims. 3)Access/Carrier codes like the ones on Ebay for a couple of bucks. 4)Unlock boxes. 5)Unlock software.
