Neither of these have any association with cricKet.

They will lose 2/3 of their customer base...they aren't brave enough to see their stocks plummet to that existent yet..

They will lose 2/3 of their customer base...they aren't brave enough to see their stocks plummet to that existent yet..I agree with you there, but from what I've heard from my contacts in the corp grape vine is they are going to limit knew CPE's that don't have an ESN that's been in inventory to only talk/text. But hey it's cricKet and we all know they change what they say at a drop of a dime.

Perhaps, but cricket releasing the Zio and Blackberry are HOPEFULLY the first steps into making better phones to compete with the other companies. They gotta work on trying to price the phones better though...way too over priced imo... :p

Someday I'll write up a predictions list for Sprint, Boost, Virgin and cricket. Someday they might all be the same and I can explain it but not here in this thread.

The Zio release in my opinion will do nothing but help CricKet's market share
CricKet > All

Well so far Boost, Sprint and Virgin are the same company as they are all owned by Sprint.

I dont really think the ZIO or The Blackberry gonna make a lot of difference in the market...First because they are overpriced and the customer has to pay cash for the devices plus the first month and activation (Around $400 total). The Zio is a a very simple phone and Im pretty sure that gonna give a lot of Hardware and software problems like every single Kyocera that Cricket have released before...The Cricket BB 8530 is a typical cheap version of the Good ones...I have one in my hands right now and I can really feel the difference in the construction. The Cricket version is very light compared with the one from Sprint. So, I'm pretty sure this one gonna have a lot of hardware and software problems as well.Other problem is the fact that Cricket Wireless dont have a Technical Support Department so when these phones start to give problems...nobody gonna be able to fix them but us, the ones that work fixing hardware and software problems in Cell Phones. :)

No more activation fees. Yes they will still have to pay the first month but that pricing model is the same everywhere now for the most part. So with the Zio it will be 249.99 + 55.00 + tax. I just ton't care for the size of the Zio. it feels too much like the Vogue and I don't care for the vogue I have sitting in my drawer.

Besides the size of the ZIO...its a cheap phone...Cant be compared with Motorola or HTC Androids....

they are just cricketized versions of the there much nicer counterparts from sprint and verizon and evryone else that does not have the kahonas to put out a cheap junkie version of better product on the market.
they will have alot of troubles and loose many customers from lack of support from handsets that require just that, support. they did it backwards, and they are expecting the call call center in idia or wherever to handle this??? they cant cant even get feature codes and provisioning done without calling several times before getting someone that either speaks english or can actually get something done in h.o.

oh well it is what it is,were still makin money, just not on cricket branded phones.

No contract no overages how can cricKet get their money back on the phones?????????? Thats the reason for the high prices they cant screw you with an astronomical bill and getting their money back that way.
