K8: The higher-spec'd of the two phones has a 5-inch 720p HD screen and is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. The phone includes an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The K8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has LG software, such as Gesture Shot. It packs a 2,125mAh battery and will be sold in gold, indigo, and white.
K5:This entry-level handset has a 5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, and support for microSD memory cards. The main camera captures 5-megapixel images, while the selfie camera captures 2-megapixel images. The K5 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, packs a 1,900mAh battery, and will be sold in gold, silver, and titan.
The K8 will initially be made available to consumers in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, while the K5 will target customers in Europe and Latin America. LG did not say if versions of the K8 and K5 will be made available in the U.S. The LG K7 is being sold in the U.S. by T-Mobile and Boost Mobile (as the Tribute 5).
