Google kicked of AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages Project) last year with the goal of improving web page load times on the mobile web. AMP uses HTML and other standards to let web publishers optimize their content for mobile so it renders quicker over wireless connections. Google says AMP'd content loads four times faster and uses one-tenth the data of non-optimized content. AMP'd articles will appear in the Top Stories section of search results.
