New Frontier's selections can be divided loosely into experiences for a plethora of cheap mobile headsets, and ones for the few high-end Oculus Rift and HTC Vive stations that line the gallery walls. The former category is what's usually described as "VR for the masses," and you don't even need to be at Sundance to see several pieces — they're already available through Samsung's $99 Gear VR and Google Cardboard, which is so cheap it's handed out for free during advertising campaigns.
