For those of you that are wondering why unrevoked3 doesn't work on the Eris
This works for stock 2.1 finally!
Got it form xda-developers. Thanks goes to them!

Click thanks to see the link & download the Files and extract them to a folder named erisroot on your C:\ drive.
then open command prompt and cd to it like this:

cd \erisroot\

then type in the commands provided in the instructions.
be sure to flash the zip file included thru recovery menu after you've entered all the commands.

ENJOY!

yup just had to wait 7 min, lol when I was looking at the thread and it said wait 7 minute, i assumed that it would show me a boot screen, not a stupid black screen that made the phone look like its dead haha

Did the first line of commands. Sent reboot command and it hasn't booted normally since. Never had a problem with this solution before. I don't know what went wrong. Hard reset instructions aren't working either. I can get to hboot and fastboot mode but recovery just goes to exclamation point, and Volume Down and End are doing nothing. Any help?

perhaps you should try and reload stock firmware at this point.

Tried using the stock 2.1 RUU which is for the Desire, but it does not detect that the phone is connected. Am I missing something?

put it in fastboot then run the RUU

It detected, but told me that it was the wrong bootloader version. I used this one RUU_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_1.17.605.1_release_signed _with_driver.exe. If anyone has a link to the correct one or the original RUU please PM to me. Thanks ljay. I'm off RUU hunting.

The RUU failed, but the phone did boot up normally. I'm giving it back to the customer and getting on with my life! Your my hero lj27416.
