Related: -All the Apple Watch news Burkley Soft Leather Band ($53) You’ll love the look and feel of these soft, genuine leather straps for the Apple Watch. Burkley is expert at fashioning leather accessories, and these straps come in a choice of different finishes and with different buckle styles. The antique coffee finish with the classic buckle gets our vote, but you can pick whatever suits you. The clasp is included, for your chosen size. You’ll find the natural leather ages, so it looks even better when it’s worn in. Available at: Amazon Burkley Trident Valet ($70) It may look like a display case, but you can use the Valet to charge up your Apple Watch and your iPhone simultaneously. Flip the transparent lid open, and you’ll find the iPhone slots in neatly. There’s a built-in 2,600mAh battery in the Valet, making it a perfect travel companion. It can be charged up using a standard USB to Micro USB cable and there’s one supplied, though you will have to use your own Lightning and Watch cables. It comes in a textured black or white finish, and there are five green LEDs on the front to show remaining battery power. Available at: Amazon Trident Mophie Dock ($50) A minimalist design that hides your charging cable is always welcome, and this Mophie dock delivers it. It’s more stable than it looks, thanks to a solid aluminum frame, and the leather accents look classy and cushion your Apple Watch from damage. You’ll have to slot your own cable in, but it’s fairly easy to set up. It works well with any Apple watch size or strap, and it won’t look out of place on most desks or nightstands. Available at: Amazon Aerb Bamboo Docking Station ($11) This bamboo docking station is essentially an attractive block of bamboo with some well-placed grooves and hollows. It’s designed to act as a stand for both your Apple Watch and your iPhone. You’ll have to slide in your own cables. There’s a special groove for the Apple Watch cable, but the Lightning cable just comes through a hole in the back. The rounded bamboo finish is practical and blends in easily with most surroundings. This docking station is also great value. Available at: Amazon HyperLink Bracelet ($60) You can still pre-order this high quality stainless steel band at a cheap introductory price right now. It smashed its original Kickstarter goal by offering a band that uses the same 316L stainless steel alloy as Apple’s bracelet. It does lack the fancy clasp, but for several hundred bucks less, you might be content to live without it. There’s a version to match each size and finish of Apple Watch. The retail price will be $120, so head over to Indiegogo if you want to secure a good discount. Available at: Indiegogo Next page:-5 more Apple Watch accessories Zagg Invisible Shield Screen Protector ($15) It makes sense to protect your Apple Watch screen. It could pick up scratches and scrapes that will spoil the look. Zagg makes great screen protectors for phones, so you might be tempted to try this one for the Apple Watch. It’s supposed to be invisible once applied and it can self-heal to an extent, making minor scratches fade. However, reviews are decidedly mixed. It can be very tough to neatly fit a screen protector and the rounded face of the Apple Watch can cause problems. Available at: Amazon Casetify Apple Watch Straps ($70) If you’re not keen on Apple’s bands, then you can find a wide selection of strap designs at Casetify. In fact, you can design your own strap if you don’t like any of the countless designs on offer. There’s an app for Android or iOS, making it easy for you to design a strap with your own photos. You’ll also find a lot of funky designs on display, created by a diverse group of artists. Each strap is polycarbonate, with stainless steel fixings, and you can customize the size. Available at: Casetify Nomad Pod ($60) This portable pod is designed to slip into your pocket or bag. It measures 75mm by 25mm and weighs around 80g. It offers up to four full charges for your Apple Watch, thanks to a 1,800mAh lithium polymer battery. There’s a power button with a four LED display to give you an idea of remaining power, and a Micro USB port on the side to charge the Pod. Pop the top off, and you’ll find a standard USB Type-A port, into which you can plug your Apple Watch charging cable. You can wrap the cable inside before putting the top back on, to keep it tidy and out of the way. It comes in gray or silver. Available at: Nomad Twelve South HiRise Stand ($50) Here’s a sturdy bedside stand for displaying and charging up your Apple Watch overnight. It’s designed to work with your magnetic charging cable, which is easy to slot in and out. It will fit any size watch and band combination. It’s a brushed metal stand with a wide base that has non-slip rubber on the bottom. Silicone pads provide an aesthetic highlight and cushion the Apple Watch. There’s also a leather landing pad at the back for the band and buckle to rest on. The cable is kept tidied away in a groove round the back, and it runs under the leather pad. The stand comes in silver or black. Available at: Twelve South Pad & Quill Timber Catchall ($100) There’s a retro-feel to these gorgeous, handmade wooden stands that are designed to hold your Apple watch, phone, and keys or jewelry. Each one is carved from a single piece of American Walnut, Cherry, or African Mahogany. You can run the charging cable, for the Apple Watch and a phone, through the back. There are four non-slip feet on the bottom. You can get the smaller Luxury Pocket Stand ($70), just for the Apple Watch if your prefer. Available at: Pad & Quill Next page:-5 more Apple Watch accessories Native Union Dock ($50) Do you fancy a stylish chunk of minimalism as your Apple Watch dock? This combination of matte graphite silicone and aluminum, from Native Union, might just catch your fancy. It’s a block, with a circular peg that you’re supposed to hang your Apple Watch on. You slot your own charging cable into it. The peg can be removed and reversed. The dock can also work laying on it’s side, if you prefer your Apple Watch to match your orientation when you lie down. The square is 72mm, and it’s 65mm across with the peg. It’s also really heavy at 750g. Available at: Native Union Calypso Timeless Moment ($150) These arches of premium Italian leather may be hand-crafted in Europe, but they certainly aren’t cheap. The design is simple, featuring a padded leather arch, with a groove in the underside to slot your own charging cable into. The Apple Watch rests on top, and the magnetic cable keeps it in place. You can choose from four different finishes: orange, black, white, or red. Available at: Calypso Proper WatchKeeper Dock and Case ($60) If you want a good protective case for your Apple Watch, then look no further. This oblong case has an EVA foam tray covered in soft microfiber. Your charging cable will fit in underneath, out of sight, and your watch sits in the opening. The case also works like a dock, and there’s a small opening in the side where you can feed the cable through and plug it into the wall. The hinged top can be left open if you want to use it as a dock. The exterior is leather and you can choose a black or tan finish. It’s lightweight, and it measures 9 x 2.2 x 1 inches. Available at: Proper ArmorSuit MilitaryShield Screen Protector ($7) As tough as the Apple Watch display is, there’s always a risk of scratches and impact damage. You can reduce the risk with a screen protector. You’ll find two screen protectors in the pack and they’re designed to fully cover the watch face and curve around the edges to protect the glass. Small scratches should fade, thanks the “self-healing” properties of ArmorSuit’s range. You get everything you need to fit the protector, just take your time and follow the instructions. If anything does go wrong, and it’s not bubble-free, there’s a lifetime replacement warranty. Available at: Amazon Apple Bands ($50 – $450) You will no doubt choose your band very carefully when you order your Apple Watch, but you might want a spare, or something for special occasions. The sports bands are the cheapest at $50, and they come in various colors. You can get the metal Milanese Loop, the Leather Loop, or leather with a Classic Buckle for $150. The Modern Buckle with leather is going to set you back $250. At the top end, there’s the metal link bracelet for $450. Available at: Apple Next page:-7 more Apple Watch accessories Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable ($30 – $40) It’s dull, but it’s likely to be a necessity because you only get one charging cable in the box with your new Apple Watch. It’s typically expensive at $40 for the two meter version. You can save $10 if you opt for a one meter cable instead. They both come with Apple’s MagSafe technology, which makes it easy to attach the cable to the back of your watch, as magnets will pull them together to hold the cable in place. Available at: Apple Rest Composure Charger Dock ($74) Here’s another charging solution with a walnut finish. This one also plays host to your existing charging cable, but instead of holding your watch in an elevated position, it’s designed for you to lay your watch flat on top of it. It is weighted and has little protective pads to keep it from slipping. It’s also made in the United States, and Rest is planning a complementary set of docking stations for the iPhone as well. The retail price is going to be $94. Available at: Rest X-Doria Defense Edge ($30) This protective case can be snapped onto your Apple Watch, and it has a black rubber lining with an aluminum exterior in your choice of gold, red, blue, or silver. There are accurate cut-outs to ensure easy access to watch functions, and it should safeguard against scratches and bumps. It’s a fairly minimal design, and the aluminum is intended to match the classy look of the Apple Watch, but it’s a matter of opinion whether it manages to do so. Available at: X-Doria Griffin WatchStand ($30) Here’s a really smart idea at a fairly attractive price point. Griffin’s stand actually employs the cable that comes with your Apple Watch and allows you to stick your watch at an easily viewable angle on the nightstand for recharging. You can wrap any excess cable inside the body to hide it from view. The base has padding to prevent it from slipping, and there’s a little lip that allows you to prop your iPhone below the watch. Available at: Griffin Lunatik Epik Apple Watch Kit-($60) We really don’t know too much about the Epik from Lunatik other than the fact it will be a protective system, which should add a higher level of dust and water resistance. Lunatik makes a good line of iPhone cases with great drop protection, so this will be worth a look if you need rugged protection for your new watch. The company is promising protective vents and a premium aluminum design. It should pop up on Kickstarter soon. Available at: Lunatik Amazon DodoCase Charging Stand ($60 – $80) Made from California Orchard Walnut this wooden stand is hand-crafted in San Francisco, and it looks gorgeous. It’s designed to accommodate your charging cable (it doesn’t come with one), and you can hide it from view in the groove down the back. There’s also a suction cup on the bottom, so there’s no danger you’ll knock it off the nightstand. The solid steel base ensures it stays put and makes it easy to lift the Apple Watch off the stand one-handed. Available at: DodoCase ActionProof Apple Watch Bumper ($35) Originally backed-on Indiegogo, this bumper is made from strong rubber called laprene, and it will stop your Apple Watch from picking up scratches or cracks by absorbing the impact of any knocks. There are cut-outs for all the buttons, the sensors, the microphone, and the speaker. It comes in black, white, or orange with different colored dots, and costs-$35 direct from the ActionProof website. The idea is that you might pop it on when you’re doing sports or going adventuring. Available at: ActionProof That’s all the Apple Watch accessories we have right now, but we’ll be updating this roundup frequently with new entries, so do check back.
