Facebook’s Music Stories adds more services, lets you keep scrolling while you listen

The feature was somewhat limited at launch, only allowing streaming from Apple Music and Spotify. Now Music Stories is getting a bit more fleshed out, as Facebook director of product Michael Cerda shared in an update to a blog post. First, four new audio streaming services have been added: Deezer, Napster, Rhapsody, and KKBOX. The ability to stream audio previews from NPR has been added as well. The feature is called Listen & Scroll, and does exactly what it says: Users can now continue to keep scrolling through their feed while they listen. The currently streaming clip moves down to the lower right of the screen, so you don’t have to worry about losing it. Music Stories allows users to share songs from the supported steaming service of their choice. Simply use the “share song” option on the service and paste the link into Facebook, which converts it into a 30-second preview. When someone else sees the clip, they can listen to the preview via Facebook before being prompted to hear more on the streaming service itself or buying the song from iTunes. Like most new features Facebook introduces these days, Music Stories is currently only available on iOS, though Cerda said that it will be rolling out on the Web soon. So far there has been no mention of whether the feature will be coming to Android.
