I was able to flash my Blackberry pearl 8130 to Metropcs but when i go to the stores or call the customer service to change my account onto my flashed bb they tell me the esn is not in the system. Is this because i may have messed up in the flashing process? or is it something that i have no control over?

You need a dealer to put it in using hudini I believe.

You have to find a dealer willing to put it in the system for you or have it flashed with Houdini to have it done automatically. I know the blackberries are not on the flash list so that only leaves a dealer willing to put it in the system. Most will charge you bout $20 to do it.

Yes both are correct. If I were you, I would go to a corporate store first as they charge less. But if you run into the issue of "rulebook" enforcement like some coprate stores will flex, then resort to the authorized dealers. Take note they will charge just about double the price that coporate will though. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks.

Take the phone to an authorized dealer. They should be able to change the esn on your account (thereby adding it to the network)

Houdini does not accept blackberry esn. You would need to find an authorized metropcs dealer who is currently doing the blackberry flashing service. I do know how it is done but I won't be able to explain too much here. Tell me where you are located and I might be able to find someone for you. This is my first time posting here ..so I am not sure what I can say or can't

So i kinda figured it out a lil more but not enough, so in order to put the bb esn in metro, you have to get a samsung R210 and somehow put the same esn thats on the bb on the R210, houdini that one and u register the BB esn. If you guys know how to do this let me know cus i dont, thanks

there in lies the delimma. That would be construed as Cloning which in itself is illegal. meid/esn repair come to mind as for clues to solving your problem. google and the undernet are your friends.

Would it really be cloning? If your only using the Sammy as a vessel to get the carrier to accept the MEID but using the BB, it sounds more like Telecom Fraud. But what ever phone you use as the vessel be sure to either zero out or write back the correct MEID when done or it would be cloning because both devices could access the network at the same time.

I wasn't to clear on if all blackberry's were unable to be added to Metro or just phones that they did not sell themselves already. I just had this chat with a customer service rep on there online chat system. And this is what she said, but its Customer Service, so take her answer with a grain of salt.
Jessica: Hi, I'm a live MetroPCS product specialist. Would you like my help checking out?
Jessica: Just type your question below.
You: Hello, if I have a sprint blackberry 8530, same model you guys sell, can i metro flash it to your system?
Jessica: Hello! Allow me to explain.
Jessica: You still may be able to use your existing phone with MetroPCS as long as you phone qualifies. A CDMA phone will work on our network for voice and text only. Which is why I would encourage you to acquire a Metro phone so that you may take advantage of all of our unlimited services.
You: Okay, thank you, I heard that but wasnt to sure. I just cant afford one of your blackberry's but I like the one I have. Is the Blackberry 8530 a phone that will qualify for addition to your system?
Jessica: If your Black berry is a Non-Sim Card phone, Yes.
You: Yes, its a non sim card one, it was used on sprint prior.
You: So metro flash will work with it? metro flash is whats its called correct?
Jessica: Yes, you may do so at the local store.
Jessica: Here's a link to a new window where you view the Store Locator page.
Jessica: Please Click Here to see the page.
You: Awesome thank you very much, someone else had told me blackberrys from other carriers couldnt be added thru it. Thanks for the clarifying
Jessica: My pleasure. Is there anything else that I can help you with?
Jessica: I'd be happy to stay and help you, but I'm afraid if I don't hear from you, I will have to go help other customers.
You: oh no you have been great help! thank you
So is she wrong that a simple metro flash can put the phone and esn onto the system at any store now?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, just havent been able to figure out if you could or couldnt metro flash it or if you had to "repair" the esn.
thanks in advance
