The upcoming PlayStation ports will mark the first time the currently mobile-exclusive Hitman GO will be available for consoles. Related: - Hitman: Agent 47 review A mobile-focused adaptation of Io Interactive’s Hitman games, Hitman GO consolidates the stealth-action franchise’s gameplay into a series of single-screen puzzle levels. Players control series antihero Agent 47 throughout a variety of stealth-focused missions that put a new spin on gameplay mechanics featured throughout the franchise. Unlike previous Hitman games, Hitman GO features turn-based gameplay that resembles a tabletop board game in presentation and approach. In each level, players must collect items and assassinate targets as they head toward a specified extraction point. Enemy characters within each level move along pre-defined paths during each turn, however, forcing players to anticipate their movements and plan out a route in advance. Later levels introduce more advanced gameplay elements like disguises, hiding spots, and distraction items, adding complexity to Hitman GO ‘s core mechanics. Originally released for iOS and Android devices in 2014, Hitman GO made its way to Windows Mobile and Windows 10 earlier this year. Updates released after the game’s launch added an additional gameplay chapter inspired by Hitman 2: Silent Assassin , along with a feature that allows players to transfer their save data across multiple platforms and devices. Hitman GO ‘s success led to the release of a sequel inspired by Square Enix’s popular Tomb Raider franchise. Lara Croft GO , released earlier this year, swaps out Hitman GO ‘s urban settings for environments that take place in jungles, temples, and ancient ruins. Lara Croft GO otherwise features similar turn-based gameplay that finds Lara Croft traversing dangerous territory while avoiding deadly creatures. A release date for the PlayStation console versions of Hitman GO was not announced.
