Samsung’s and LG’s latest budget smartphone offerings could soon land on U.S. shores

Starting with the Samsung handset, it’s already available in China in the form of the-weirdly-named Galaxy J3(6).-The Galaxy J3 rumored to launch in the U.S. sometime next year should-remain identical to its Chinese-counterpart, with the handset sporting a 5-inch, 1,280 x 720 resolution AMOLED display. You’ll find a 5-megapixel camera on the back, while selfie lovers will have to live with the 2-megapixel shooter on the front. Finally, the Galaxy J3 looks to sport-16GB of internal memory, double the storage found in its Chinese counterpart. According to the report,-AT&T and Sprint, as well as Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, and Virgin Mobile, will carry the Galaxy J3. As for the LG K7, the budget-minded smartphone looks to pack a 5-inch, 854 x 480 resolution display. Taking a peek under the hood reportedly reveals a quad-core 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and 1.5GB of RAM-powering the handset. On the storage front, the K7 only provides a measly 8GB of-memory, with the report making no mention of-possible expandable storage through a Micro SD card slot.-Finally, the K7 is slated to include 5-megapixel cameras on the front and the back. As for availability,-the K7 will reportedly make its way to T-Mobile and “other U.S. carriers,” though-we can assume that those other carriers likely include prepaid ones, given the K7’s budget status.
