Prime members now have free access to stream the collection of Christmas originals and covers from new and veteran indie artists like YACHT ( Christmas Alone ), Sondre Lerche & Jherek Bischoff ( Surviving Christmas ), Langhorne Slim ( Deck the Halls (with Boughs of Holly )), Born Cages ( Ave Maria ), and more. Related : Androidians land some cool new features for Amazon Prime Music “We always want to deliver something special to our customers, and- Indie for the Holidays -is the next great way we’re connecting customers with not only new, original holiday music, but with amazing artists and bands that they may not have discovered yet,” said Amazon VP of Digital Music Steve Boom in a statement.-“We’re excited to follow last year’s popular- All Is Bright -holiday collection with songs from some of today’s best indie artists for customers to enjoy throughout the season.” While Amazon Prime Music — with a catalog of just 1 million songs — pales in comparison to leading streamers Spotify and Apple Music (which both offer about 30 million songs and more extensive music recommendation features), Indie for the Holidays- is certainly-nice addition for Amazon Prime’s tens of millions of subscribers. Periodic compilations like this one-and Amazon Acoustics earlier this year-both remind subscribers of the music streaming arm and give them access to some content that can’t be heard on competing streamers. That being said, it’s worth noting that the Amazon exclusives haven’t yet roped in too many big ticket artists. Amazon Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria, and Japan can now listen to the compilation ad-free via the Amazon Music app on Fire devices, Amazon Echo, iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets, or on the Web. Amazon is also selling songs from the compilation on its online music store. Also watch: Plugged Crown Headphones Review Please enable Javascript to watch this video
