Apparently "fire the kid at an apple on a midwife's head, William Tell-style" was not as well received as anticipated. SERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, Fox Scream Queens Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis lead the ensemble of the latest horror/comedy/who-the-heck-knows-what-else cavalcade from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. "Pilot" and "Hell Week" introduce us to Kappa House, whose status as the campus's most elite sorority is threatened by both an iron-fisted new dean and a stab-happy serial killer (not necessarily in that order). SEASON 13 PREMIERE, 8pm, CBS NCIS "Stop the Bleeding" opens the season with Gibbs recuperating from his gunshot wound aboard a Navy hospital ship, his life in the hands of surgeon Jon Cryer (sorry, Gibbs). Meanwhile, DiNozzo and Joanna head to Shanghai to combat the Calling. SERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, PBS Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise This six-episode series charts the restoration and challenges of Mozambique's Gorongosa National Park. "Lion Mystery" commences the exploration with a look at why the park's lion population has stagnated. Then in "Elephant Whisperer," an expert on the pachyderms goes to great lengths to study their behavior. SERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, ABC The Muppets Miss Piggy is incensed after Kermit books Elizabeth Banks as a guest on her late-night talk show in the opener of this mockumentary-style series. Elsewhere in "Pig Girls Don't Cry," Fozzie meets his girlfriend's folks and Imagine Dragons stops by to perform their latest single. SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 8:30pm, ABC Fresh Off the Boat "Family Business Trip" sends the Huangs to Gator World, where Louis has business to conduct, Jessica learns to unwind, and Eddie tests his nerve against the "Death Roll" (which must be either a kickass roller coaster or a truly unappetizing pastry). Along the way, Evan loses his last baby tooth. SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9pm CBS NCIS: New Orleans A military convoy is bombed on a bridge in "Sic Semper Tyrannis," spurring an undercover op to recover a stolen missile and prevent any more property of the U.S. Armed Forces from getting blowed the heck up. Perhaps the team's cover identities will be as the backing band of guest star Dr. John? 9pm, Syfy Face Off In "Judgment Day," the artists put their own spins on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I believe that after those harbingers' most recent reboot, their current lineup is War, Java Update, No Cell Phone Bars, and Donald Trump Rally. SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, CBS Limitless After taking the mysterious drug NZT, an ordinary dude's brain grows three sizes in this adaptation of/follow-on to the 2011 film (the movie's star, Bradley Cooper, executive produces the series and will reprise his role in a recurring capacity). In the opener, Brian and his newly embiggened brain must elude the FBI and clear his name of an NZT-related murder. 10pm, NBC Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris TBD? 10pm, PBS On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam This documentary chronicles the experiences of Latino Americans during the Vietnam War. At the center are the stories of siblings Everett and Delia Alvarez, the former a U.S. Navy commander and POW, the latter a leader of the anti-war movement on the homefront. 10pm, FX The Bastard Executioner Wilkin must get on with the executioning of his eponymous role when a surprising suspect is charged with treason in "Effigy/Ddelw," which also apparently establishes the unfortunate-for-spellcheckers trend that this show's titles will be rendered in both English and Welsh. 10pm, BET Real Husbands of Hollywood Kevin runs into a few hurdles while trying to arrange a confab with the president of Paramount in "The Great American Hero." 10pm, TNT Public Morals Rusty's out for vengeance after the murder of two of his people. Elsewhere in "A Token of Our Appreciation," red flags are raised by Latucci's camaraderie with an Italian mobster, complications plague Bullman's relationship with an escort, and danger surrounds Smitty's role as a boss. 10:30pm, Comedy Central Drunk History "Spies" pays tribute to some of Western civilization's stealthiest heroes: Harriet Tubman, who provided critical intel to U.S. forces during the Civil War; Virginia Hall, who worked behind enemy lines during World War II; and Roald Dahl, who was not only a beloved author but also a key British spy against the Axis powers. Featured performers include Octavia Spencer, Alia Shawkat, and Will Ferrell. LATE-NITE: – Sharon Osbourne, Donald Glover, and Caleb Synan on Conan , 11pm, TBS – TBD on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore , 11:30pm, Comedy Central – Anne Hathaway, Anthony Anderson, and A Great Big World on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , 11:35pm, NBC – Donald Trump, Energy Secretary Dr. Ernest Moniz, and Raury on Late Show with Stephen Colbert , 11:35pm, CBS – Kerry Washington, Lea Michele, and Travis Scott on Jimmy Kimmel Live , 11:35pm, ABC – Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Michael Irvin, George Ezra, and Stephen Perkins on Late Night with Seth Meyers , 12:35am, NBC – Kristen Schaal and Royal Blood on The Late Late Show with James Corden , 12:37am, CBS WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING TONIGHT?
