The Nerds way to do the Rumor Touch

1.> Plug that micro usb cable into the phone and make sure it is connected to the PC.

2.> Fire-up the latest version you have of LG. Download

3.> Make sure You select the VX9900 DLL

4.> Read your NV Memory. On your first page it will give you your 6 digit MSL/SPC code go ahead and change it to 000000 (6) 0's and write it. You have now cahnged your SPC code. After the reboot go to PRL in LG Download still with the 9900 dll as your dll of choice and write your Cricket PRL.

5.> BAM Talk n Text Cricket style ;) Enjoy ;) if you know what needs to be done to get wap or MMS up and going please post. I also have noticed with LG Download you can change most LG phones SPC code.

yes misunderstood, that is how you flash it, you will need the program LG Download which can be downloaded in the LG section and you'll also need the cricket PRL

Bad forum! No more losing posts! Here's what I THOUGHT I posted a couple of hours ago:

What version are you using to do this? I'm using version 1.6, and here's what happens when I do it:

Click 'NV Edit Start'. It asks for the SPC Code (which of course I don't have YET). If I click Cancel, it dumps me back to the main screen. If I click Ok, it attempts to Enable DM Mode (which is a bit silly). It then fails, gives an error message, and dumps me back to the main screen.

That's as far as I get, thanks for any further help!

just did 2 of them with workshop,took about 2 minutes a-piece.use the same method as you do for all the other lg's for spc it reads it correctly every time,as long is it is not a prepaid.

now on to web!

For those of you who are having difficulty following the above (I can find no Read NV Memory in LGDownload 1.3.6 nor 1.4), You can use CDMA workshop V2.7 or later to read the SPC, just go to Security, SPC, LG Method & Read. Then Send it to unlock the phone and Write 000000 to reset the SPC, You can also do the PRL & update the NAM from CDMA WS. QPST will also do everything except read the SPC.

When i try to use the LG Download program it says it needs a web service to run it and that never works -_-

Hey, I dont mean to be completely noobish, but I am. Im in the process of learning how to do flashes and all that good stuff. I have all the software that this other guy on a different forum told me to get. I dont have LG Download, but at this time I would rather use workshop if possible. Is there any way you can give me a more simplified dummy proof step by step on flashing my Sprint LG Rumor Touch to any prepaid network, whichever will let me do a full flash over, and is the easiest. IT has a bad ESN, so Boost is probably ruled out without doing a "repair", and I dont want to waste one of my ***** phones on a Rumor Touch, I have them saved for Android phones. I have been doing alot of reading and asking questions, but I have yet to do a flash or repair, can you give me an easy walk through on the rumor touch for sprint to whoever? It sounds easy enough, but you lost in a few areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! PS - I will be selling the phone after on ebay, and i would be more then happy to donate a portion of that sale to whoever helps me get the flash done. Ill even come back here and link to the auction so everyone can see what it sells for. Thanks again.
