Google Pulls Hangouts Out of Gmail

Google has given Hangouts a web site all its own. Users of Google's cross-device messaging service can now visit Hangouts.Google.com for a dedicated chat window. The app still resides in Gmail, but those looking for a richer experience can go to the Hangouts web site, which displays conversations in bigger windows and lets users customize the wallpaper and other aspects of its appearance. Hangouts is available to Android and iOS devices as a mobile messaging app. Conversations are synced between the desktop and mobile devices automatically. Hangouts is free to use.
