Please say thanks to view this method

[HIDE-THANKS]Just to make a note I have installed both 2.2 leaks and they are pretty stable... Please NOTE that if you are installing on a droid flashed to cricket you will need to place the u2nl file back in the system/bin directory to have all apps and mms working on your phone......

to do so you will need to follow one of the 2 options: (I assume you have root)

Now go to command prompt and type the following commands,

cd c:\android\tools
adb remount
adb push c:\android\tools\u2nl /system/bin/u2nl

Or if you have Root Explorer installed

Copy the u2nl file to the root of your SDCARD, and then open root explorer
then navigate to the file on your sdcard, and press and hold. now select COPY

Next navigate to the system/bin folder and hit the Mount R/W button at the top
Now press paste
now reboot the phone and Voila

np =] btw I got it to work without needing to update to 2.1 then to 2.2

Note*

If you wipe device in order to install froyo
you must adb install wifitether.apk and redo autostart.apk as well as final step

Markstyle, please save thread space by hitting the thanks button instead of using a post to say thanks. Thanks! Your posts will now dissappear in the black hole!

Froyo has iptables built in for the wifi modem add on, do you need to replace that table with the wifi tether apps iptables? The file size is different.I got the 3g and everything on froyo rooted. I can't seem to finish it. Did whiterabbits 12 nv items after insanes 5 left me with no data errors. My browser still don't work, I can send a mms, but it is slow about getting it up. I get notification for mms inbound, but it fails to download. I am clearly missing something very simple. I am tempted to go back to my BB Storm, the os gliches and slow response don't out way the whole no data thing on the droid I got. My 3g is always trying to sync and upload and drains my battery. I still have my storm...anyone want a droid almost fully flash?

I got the files set in the right places, set the permissions, and the same issue. What size is the u2nl I am needing to use, I may have the wrong one.

I had that on installed, and just tried the one posted at HF. 3g up arrow almost non stop, no browser or mms in. I think starting over may be the only thing to do. Found another thread where this type of issue had come up, it was solved but not posted publicly.

Used a different autostart and web and apps work. No inbound mms still. Tried ebuddy for my IM but my data connection kept crashing, just quit getting any data on 3g. Any suggestions on the mms?

If you got the 3g icon that is good, now you will have to open the apn settings to get the mms working and the setting on the HF are incorrect in some ways... If you can get web that is good all you have to do is the mms settings and done...

I thought there settings looked funny. I need to use ip instead? Like 10.125.32.4, I know that isn't the right numbers, I did a ping and got the right ones, but is that what I need to change? Wap.mycricket.com to ip?

the apn should be setup like this

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
</apns>

only change the ones pertaining to cricket settings

Isn't crickets numeric 310016? Maybe not important, but just read it, and had to ask.

I got all I needed out of your post, I did the changes in a minute and rebooted and starded getting mms right away. I have data crash from time to time, but that may have been the mms settings causing that.
