First, Instagram has reimagined the "explore" function to better reflect trending stories, conversations, and news. The explore function will now highlight things happening in real time, such as popular events. Second, Instagram has improved the search function to make it easier for people to find images of specific places. Search is also better at sifting through individual people as well as hashtags. Instagram believes the two changes together will improve the ability of users to find new and engaging content. Instagram 7.0 for Android and for iOS is due out later today. The app is free to download.
