I am really amazed at where our cellphone technology is getting. Currently we have a handful of devices, such as HTC HD2, Google Nexus One and a few Smartbooks, that have Qualcomm 1GHz processors...but by end of year this may change. Slashgear
[Only registered and activated users can see links] is reporting the following....

[First up will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8X50A, a 45nm version of the current chip and clocked at 1.3GHz. That will begin sampling to manufacturers later in January 2010, with the first products using expected by the end of the year. It’ll be followed by a dual-core Snapdragon, the 8X72, with twin 1.5GHz Scorpion cores, before 2010 is out. No definitive specifications, but according to Pineda the 8X72 will be suitable for both smartphones and smartbooks and capable of 1080p High Definition.]

1GHz is fast and 1.5 will be FAST!!!
