some of the older links on the forum are dead.
and for your info you dont always have to use the exact dll for the model u need sometimes other models dll will work ok

its self explanatory in the sense that if you dont have the matching dll try another from a model close to yours

OK, thank you again Rich.

Perhaps I should explain what I am trying to do here; I have almost NO experience with any of this stuff save I flashed a Motorola KRZR K1m from Sprint to Verizon a while back but I followed a simple step by step guide posted on a website.

I just found my old LG VX8700 in the basement and would like to resurrect it (why, I don’t know) and powering it on it just reads “Downloading” on front and main LCD’s and stays there and does not boot. So, I really don’t know what i am doing and thought i could fix it the same way i did the KRZR, but this is altogether different. That said, can someone please tell me where to begin?

look for threads on lgnpst, that tool is posted here in the forum but you will need to read up on how to use it, the firm for that device should be in the lg section as well.
