Apple today pushed out a minor system update to iPhones and iPads. iOS 8.0.1 mainly serves to resolve bugs and performance issues plaguing iOS 8 devices. First and foremost, the update fixes a bug that prevented HealthKit apps from appearing in the App Store. The update also addresses a problem with third-party keyboards, a problem with third-party access to the photo library, and a problem that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari. The update improves the reliability of the "Reachability" feature of the iPhone 6/6 Plus, resolves an SMS/MMS data issue, and fixes a problem that prevented ringtones from being restored from iCloud backups. However, the update introduces several new bugs. Phone Scoop can confirm that iPhones updated to iOS 8.0.1 can no longer access the mobile network and also lose Touch ID functionality. Apple has not yet addressed the new issues.
