In particular it was touting something called the AVN system that enables drivers to plug an Android phone into a car that supports Google's Android Auto in-car interface platform and automatically access navigation apps, contacts, and to send messages and make calls though the in-car display. Less than a week later it has now confirmed that it has signed up to the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA), Google's initiative for bringing a distraction-free version of Android and of Android handset functionality to the car dashboard and is promising that it will play a "key role" in the future of Android Auto.
