I used to have a Lg Chocolate vx8500 with Nam 1 for Verizon and Nam 2 for Cricket...Im pretty sure most of Verizon phones you can use the 2 Nam's but I dont really remember if I had to use one at the time or if I was using both at the same time...but probably you might have to switch Nam's in order to use the two carriers in your phone....Hope that helps and Good Luck. :)

Dual NAM is the way to go, but you can only use one at a time and only one can be used for data, WAP/MMS, tethering etc.

I noticed even the motorola Q9's have nam 1 and nam 2. Can they be set up for two different Service Providers?

Yes sir...as long as the Nam 2 is not locked and is letting you to set up your PRL...you are good to go with two different carriers...
