Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere else. Basically my question is, when a phone is calculating chip delay, does it add it onto the existing pn offset? For example, PN offset one is 64 chips delayed by default, and lets say its time of arrival is 50 chips delayed, would that mean that the phone sees the total chip delay at 114 chips delayed? The reason im asking is because im wondering if it is possible for a phone to confuse two different pn offsets as the same. Lets say BTS A is transmitting pn offset 2 (128 chips delayed) and BTS B is transmitting PN offset 1 (64 chips delayed). Now, lets say BTA A has direct line of sight and the it take only 5 chips to reach the phone (total delay of 133 chips?) and then BTS does NOT have LOS and reflects off several surfaces before arriving at the MS 60 chips delayed (which would put the total delay at 124 chips delayed). In this case, however unlikely, would it be possible for the MS to confuse BTS A and BTS B as the same PN offset? Thanks in advance.
