Mobile advertising firm Chitika has found that Samsung smartphones and tablets accounted for 55.5% of all North American mobile ad impressions on its network among Android devices, which is pretty astonishing considering that no other Android OEM even cracked 10%. Generating ad impressions is important because it’s one sign that people aren’t just buying your devices but are engaging with them. Apple has long trotted out statistics showing high user engagement with iPhones and iPads as a way to counter reports about deteriorating market share, so Samsung has to be happy that its users
