Glass Guide Teresa Zazenski wrote in Google's private forum for Glass owners that the company is working on a future update that will bring more useful features for Explorers and developers. Zazenski made it clear that Google won't push out the update until it's "just right," so it's unclear exactly when Explorers can expect newer software.
