You are indeed absolutely correct. Also, unlike the implication from other models lableling, the Q9c firmware is later and better.

quick question..whats the point of the generics? is it necessary in order to write cricket stuff to them or ??
because I thought we could just use motorola pst general to do so

Generics (DST - Developement Software Team) versions are Motorola's retail version (sometimes called Brightpoint or Cellstar) and besides being the version that all others are based on, except in the case of exclusive products (like Verizon and the V325/325i etc...), they also serve as the basic foundation for smaller carriers like Ntelos, Cellular South, Pocket, and so forth who use the DST monster and then they run a flex file to add some of the specifics they want like PRL, data/browser settings, BREW and whatever else they deem necessary. It is a lot simpler from the developement standpoint and cheaper for the carriers whose market is not big enough to justify the expensive of a full blown dedicated shx firmware.

There is no such thing as a DST for either of these models. These are Verizon exclusives and that is all that exists. The A455 however is apparently only a USA exclusive model as two Canadian carriers sell it Koodo Mobile and (I think) Telus. The only thing we have found that I know of is a Koodo Mobile upgrade, no monsters. Either of these would be closer to a generic but they are both Java so look out flashing away, plus their bootloaders appear to be incompatible versions, but this is not verified as we don't have those monsters.

One never officilally existed from Motorola. There is one that exists for the V325 and V325i, but it is part of the Cricket package that someone created and is not a free piece of software.

You cant use these on the V325/V325i unless you want to brick them. Do your research and read my previous post. The only ways are one part of a paid solution and the only other way was the proper order of flashing that included several monsters. I know it works because I figured it out a few years ago but dont remember now and all those posts have been lost from the old Mobile-Files.

Motorola never made one. There was only Verizon and Alltel versions. One does exist, but it was privately written and was a paid solution.

Everybody need to understand there is not a Generic (DST) Monster Flash Files or cricket monster file for every motorola phone.

Cricket monster files are only available for phones that cricket carried and a few custom ones. v325, w385

Generic (DST) Monster Flash Files are from smaller carriers. There are not that many dst and I say in the last 4 years there been less than a handfull release.

There is no V860 DST, that is an exclusive for Verizon. However in the case of the W845 (W840) there is one, but it is not something you will find leaked anytime soon, just for sale as it is the required base firmware for any crossflashing solutions.

All I have is the various vesions of the oringinal Verizon version. There has never be a DST for the VU204 or W755 which are basically the same phone.
To make one would costyou several thousand dollars!
