Android 4.4, code name KitKat, has been on the market for nearly a month and a half, and in recent days and weeks, upgrade plans to the new OS have been announced for a wide variety of hardware devices.
Is your handset headed for a KitKat update? Here's an up-to-the-minute look at which devices the major Android manufacturers are planning to support with Android 4.4 as of this week... and which ones are being left behind.

Motorola - Motorola has clarified its upgrade plans for the Qualcomm Snapdragon (http://www.qualcomm.com/snapdragon)-powered Droid Maxx and Moto G line, saying that all devices in that line will be upgraded to KitKat by January 2014 at the latest. As well, users of the Moto X should have the update already. Finally, if you have an older Motorola phone (but not too old), there's a good chance you'll be eligible for KitKat at some point (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19736_7-57613042-251/motorola-expands-horizon-for-android-4.4-updates/) too, including some phones in the Droid Ultra, Droid Mini, Droid Razr, Electrify, and Atrix lines. As always, your best bet for the most recent information on your phone's upgrade eligibility can be found by entering your device information on the company's upgrade website (https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949).
HTC - HTC says (http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/12/10/5-new-htc-android-4-4-kitkat-update-details-emerge/) the HTC One will receive its KitKat upgrade by the end of January (the Google Play edition of the phone has already been updated), in line with its original promise of getting the update out within 90 days of 4.4's launch. Updates for the HTC One Mini, HTC One Max, and HTC Droid DNA will be coming after the HTC One is updated. Alas, the company has confirmed that users of the HTC One X won't be getting the 4.4 update for now.
Google - Google's Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 have all already received the 4.4 update. In fact, updates to the latest version (http://www.zdnet.com/android-kitkat-4-4-2-arrives-for-nexus-family-of-devices-7000024170/) of KitKat, 4.4.2, have already begun being pushed out (including on the new Nexus 5). Google previously confirmed that the original Google Nexus (with no model number trailing it) is not being upgraded.
Samsung - Samsung's Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition has already been upgraded (http://www.gazelle.com/thehorn/2013/12/02/google-rolls-out-kitkat-update-for-samsung-galaxy-s4/). There's been considerable discussion of a large number of older model Samsung phones (including non-Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 phones) also seeing this upgrade in the future, but nothing concrete has been announced.
Sony - Sony has revealed (http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/07/sony-kitkat-android/) it will be updating a number of Xperia devices, including the Z, Z1, ZL, Z Ultra, and Tablet Z, to KitKat, but it still hasn't given any details on a timeline for the rollout.
LG - No KitKat upgrades for LG handsets are expected until at least next March, when the LG G2 will get the bump up to Android 4.4. Otherwise, the company hasn't made any upgrade announcements.
Other - In general, phones and tablets more than 18 months old will not get an upgrade, including the Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD, and Droid Bionic.
