How to: Flash MotoQ to tekcirC(reverse) with Wap & MMS
This tutorial will show you how to flash your Motorola Q from start to finish with WAP & MMS.

First I would like to apologize for any misuse of words, spelling or grammar. English is my second language. A few user on this forum had reply to me I’m sound like “uneducated” on a few post while back and I haven’t post since then. So please excuse me.

Second I would like to thanks for members in the forum for posting valuable information to make the process easier. I had my Q working before but i was using the hard way. Again thanks to this respected member for the information to make this tutorial happen: beezlewaxin, NfuryVIII, amoamare, and few more that I couldn’t remember.

Tools:
RSD General 4.9.8
Activesync 4.2
tekcirC PRL file
Phmregistry 0.7(include with)
Rapiconfig (include with)
Delete-n-set.xml file (include with the attachment) can not attach because forum rule only alow 14k this is 25k so the link is below to download

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Let the fun begin

Flashing:

Install activesync.

Make sure under Settings->Connections->USB to PC->”Enable advanced network functionality” on your phone is checked

Plug in your phone it will install driver and it connect with active sync (you don’t need to sync just connect as a guess will be fine)

Open RSD General 4.9.8

Click on “Phone Provisioning” on the Left

Put the check mark on “PRL” and “Mobile IP” but nothing else (the blue lettering on the left-hand side)

Click “Read Phone” button. Be patient and wait until it finish

Click on the “PRL” blue lettering on the left

Click on “Open File” button to choose the tekcirC PRL you want to flash

Click on “Mobile IP” blue lettering on the left

Under the drop down menu of “Mobile IP Behavior” choose “Simple IP Only” and don’t change anything in here, leave it alone.

** Now make sure you have a check mark on both the “PRL” and “Mobile IP” but nothing else, before you hit the “Write Phone” button

Click on “Write Phone” button

It going to pop-up and say “You are about to write Mobile IP and CDMA PRL” just click “OK”

Wait until it finish and you done the first part.

You might need to restart your phone because it got stuck on the D-mode. So turn off the phone and turn it back on. If it won’t turn off. Take out the battery.

Now the phone only capable of talk and text.

tekcirC Wap setting:

Download the attachment and unzip then put the unzipped folder named Q in your C: not to any folder just C: so it would be like this C:\Q

In the Q folder you will have3 file rapiconfig.exe, Command Prompt and delete-n-set.xml

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Run the command Prompt and type after the “>” cd C:\Q

So it should be like this >cd C:\Q and press enter

Then it will jump down to the next line and it look like this C:\Q>

Now type this in >rapiconfig.exe /p delete-n-set.xml there is a space between exe and /p

It should look like this C:\Q>rapiconfig.exe /p delete-n-set.xml (now hit enter)

Now you will see it said
“Config results written to output file RapiconfigOut.xml.”
“Config succeeded.”

You are done with wap setting. Unplug the phone from your computer
You can turn off the phone and turn it back on. Go to internet explore on your phone and access the tekcirC web site [Only registered and activated users can see links] It should work if you have web on your tekcirC account.

MMS setting:

Load the phmregistry into your phone and installed (I don’t have to show you how to do this should I? No. I should leave it to you to figure it out because I don’t evern know how to install a .cab file to my phone.) Click ok when it said “ may not display properly because it designed for previous version”. And click done

After it done install on your phone. Go to Start and open PHM Registry Editor (on you phone)

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Motorola -> MMS -> Profiles

Now in Profiles you will see VZW MMS you can change this to CKT MMS by press Menu and choose Rename. Or you can leave it alone it would effect anything it just a name for the profile.

I assumed that you have change the VZW MMS to CKT MMS from this point on

Choose CKT MMS. In here won’t see anything yet.

Press “Values”. Now it will show you the following item

Data Connections
Gateway
IP Address
MMSC URL
Port
Profile Locked

Now choose “IP Address”. You notice the default address is “gw.vzwwap.com” change this to “10.3.0.41”. Make sure you hit “Done” to save the setting and then it will bring you back to the list above.

Choose “MMSC URL” and you will have [Only registered and activated users can see links] as default. Change the word “vtext” to “mycricket” and click done to save.

Choose “Port” and make sure it “8080” and click done to save

Do not change anything else. You could if you sure you know what you are doing.

That it you are done click the “end” key to go to the main screen and restart your phone so it fresh .

Have fun and enjoy the motoQ on tekcirC. Now you don’t have to wait for tekcirC to release the Q if the rumor is true.

I need ESN Solution for the Q if some could share it please.

If my tutorial is not make sense please ask. Like I said i'm an "Uneducated"

Yes. It works on all Moto Q's. Sprint Q's have to be flashed with the Verizon monsters first.

It does work for Q9's, but you wont be able to *228. Nor will you get EVDO. (does not set-up RRT data)

The following link uses a double flash but this works. *228 & EvDO
The generic monster is just to reset the msl. You can skip that if you use CDMAworkshop to reset it.
