There are other carriers out there that are smaller, local regional cdma carriers that have their own network and run on business models very similar to Metro or Cricket. They have these characteristics.

1)Local coverage only often with extensive roaming agreements.
2)Low priced unlimited everything plans.
3)Byod possible with flashing via Houdinisoft and /or independent flashing.

Some known ones are Revol (Ohio), Blue (Parts of Pennsylvania), Mobi (Hawaii), Ntelos/Frawg (Virgina, WV), and Pocket (Pts. of Texas, Ct. and Mass.).

Smart PCS based in Dalton, Ga is believed to have bit the dust around Dec. 2009 after a little over a year in business.

If you know of any others, please list along with location and any other details. Thanks.

We can do that. Let us know. We have Cricket, Metro PCS, Page Plus, etc.

Our goal is to try to keep this simple by not having too many categories. There is an "other carrier" section that allows for the lesser known ones. If one of those carriers start to get a lot of posts we can create a new category for them and merge the posts there.

Sorry if I got misinterpreted. I meant for other forum members who know of such Metro/Cricket/Pocket type carriers to put them on THIS forum under "other" as I don't think they are major enough to warrant an individual entry but as a group, they have merit as a separate category. In other words, just add them to THIS thread, no need to start another one.

Pocket and Cricket are doing some close quarters courting. Wonder how this will affect flashing in those markets in South Texas ? Pocket is dual band and Cricket is trimode. If Cricket users in that market gain byod it will be a huge boon!
