Phablet fans, take note: Samsung’s hotly anticipated Galaxy Note 3 (http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxynote3-gear/) will arrive on the Sprint network in less than three weeks -- October 4 (http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/09/23/samsung-galaxy-note-3-release-date-dominoes-fall-line/), to be exact.
Announced earlier this month, the Galaxy Note 3 is a revamped and upgraded version of the popular Galaxy Note 2, a cell phone/tablet hybrid that has scored well in the young market for gadgets that bridge the gap between the two categories.
Samsung has made a lot of changes in the newest version of the Galaxy Note. Here’s what you need to know if you’re thinking of buying one.
The centerpiece of the device is an upgraded, quad-core, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon (http://www.pcworld.com/partner/qualcomm/home/) 800 CPU, a substantial upgrade to the 1.6GHz CPU that shipped on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Samsung has also increased the overall size of the screen a bit to 5.7 inches, keeping the width the same but stretching the vertical reach by a fraction of an inch. Resolution also increases from 720 x 1280 pixels to a fuller 1080 x 1920 pixels.
