Google Search Now Better at Peeking Through Gmail

Google today announced an update to its Google Now and Google Search products that will make it easier to find personal information stored within Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google+. The new search functions build on the foundation set by Google Now last year, which can automatically pull flight or package shipment information from Gmail. With updates to the mobile apps being pushed out beginning today, users will be able to perform natural language voice or typed searches for these items (i.e., "When is my flight?") and Google Now will actively go through Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google+ to find the information. The new search tool covers flights and reservations, purchases and plans, and photos. According to Google, the searches and data are encrypted and secure, and only accessible to people signed into their own account on the device. The feature can be turned off completely if the owner wishes.
