Samsung shouldn’t expect the Obama administration to rescue it from the International Trade Commission’s latest ruling that bans some of its older products for infringing on two Apple patents. Bloomberg explains that although the administration did veto an ITC ruling against Apple earlier this month, that particular case involved standard-essential patents while the ruling against Samsung does not. As Bloomberg tells it, “Apple could show its case dovetailed with the administration’s expressed interest in limiting the power of patents underlying fundamental technology used across an industry.” What’s more,.patent attorney Jim Altman of .Foster, Murphy, Altman & Nickel.tells Bloomberg that the Obama administration would “have to go off on a whole different level of reasoning” if it wanted to overturn the
