The FCC and Sprint today announced that the FCC has formally voted to approve SoftBank's investment in Sprint - giving them majority control - as well as Sprint's related acquisition of Clearwire. This was the last required government approval of the deals. SoftBank and Sprint have already agreed to the deals. On Monday, Clearwire's shareholders will vote on the deal, which is recommended by Clearwire's board. Sprint now expects all of the transactions to close in the next couple of weeks.
