a little information would be good. Like how should we write this bin file? Do we do write it in normal or emergency mode? and does it fully flash it to work with wap and mms?

Unfortunately I didn't include the dll with that bin file. The DLL would probably be more beneficial in that you can set the settings to the phone for WAP/MMS.

Usually there are few cases in which you will need to load the bin to a samsung. One is when you can load an actual Cricket bin to it (example: R500, U340) and the other is when only a certain bin will take the full flash settings for Cricket (example: U940).

I will post the dll if it isn't already. But I am sure RIP covered that already.

Just use the U540 dll in Sam PST not lite and open mmc file change the phone number to the current one and write to phone. Am I right?

That is the same file that smitty posted already. I am having trouble getting the mms settings to write in SPST. it gets half way through then says "error in writing"

so this is a cricket bin?
use samsung pst with dll
load bin in emergency
then run with dll change settings or use mmc
then type in code like the u340 to write prl
just verifying if thats what needs to be done =]

Would like basic instructions, with the proper files to download. Bullet points for NOOB would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Merged in the Samsung cricket forum.
I'm not sure that there really is a tutorial here but read through what is available and improvise.

Most of what you are needing to do will be with SamsungPST. It is in the Samsung section under flashing software. You can get a bin to flash to the phone here [Only registered and activated users can see links]

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

It's not exactly an extensive guide, but the process is pretty straight forward.

I have SamsungPST but it doesn't recognize my phone. There are no phones listed in the dropdown area, and I'm stuck.

This is amazingly confusing. Anyone know where we can just get step by step instructions on how to do this properly?

MMC files aren't that difficult to create. And are merely a time saving measure to flashing phones. If you have the DLL and Samsung PST, you can fully flash most of the phones to Cricket. The settings are in the cricket forum as far as MMS and WAP. It's pretty straight forward.

NOTE: Once you get all the settings written to the phone, you can save the MMC file and use it for your next one.

I hope this helps out.

Check your Device Manager and see if the phone is listed there. Make sure you have the phone in modem mode, and there are drivers installed.

As mentioned in the other thread you have started on this, use whats out there for other devices and improvise. I don't have the phone on hand so I wouldn't be much help with a tutorial. But really if your going to flashing do the research, search, more research and more searches. Most of us started this way, hours, days, weeks and even months searching trial and errors, more searches and research more trial and error.
Also for more help list what you've done, tried to do, and the outcome of each. But to request a tutorial in two different threads won't get far.

Threads merged to cutdown on future confusion.
